9. When the Church tells you that Mary was
born without original sin and lived
a sinless life, and God tells you that Jesus was the only one who ever did
that, in whom do you put your trust?
To become the Mother of the Savior, Mary was enriched by God with
gifts appropriate to such a role. The Archangel Gabriel announced
the coming birth of Jesus by saluting Mary as "full of Grace."
(Lk 1:28) Mary began her life filled with God's grace wholly
through Christ; she is redeemed in a more exalted fashion, by
reason of the merits of her Son. It is by the grace of God that
all this was possible for her. In this we place our trust in God. |
