10. When the Church tells you that priests
are another Christ, and the Bible
teaches that there is one Christ, in whom do you put your trust?
With priesthood, the Church teaches that the priest acts in the
person of Christ and does all of his work through him. He is
acting as Christ in the world by way of the Sacraments and by his
witness to a life lived like Christ's. He is not another Christ,
but only is a representative who lives according to the Gospel
message of bringing Christ to the world. In this we place our
trust in Christ. |
