Campaign 2000

“When we elect our lawmakers in America, we influence the moral character of this nation for better or for worse.  When our laws permit violence against little babies, incidents like the Columbine High School shootings are the logical outcome …”

FALWELL SUES WHITE HOUSE OVER DATABASE ON PRO-LIFERS

WASHINGTON, Jan 25 (LSN.ca) - Following the discovery of a secret database of pro-lifers kept by the US Justice Department and the FBI, Dr. Jerry Falwell, Chancellor of Liberty University and founder of "The Moral Majority," filed a Privacy Act request to determine whether or not The White House and Clinton Justice Department had files on him and his ministries. Both requests were stonewalled leading to suspicions that illegal files are being kept on Dr. Falwell and his ministries. To get at the truth, Judicial Watch and Jerry Falwell, Jr., an attorney in Lynchburg, Virginia, and son of Dr. Falwell, filed suit in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

As LifeSite reported last July, working on an anonymous tip, Judicial Watch, a US government watchdog, confirmed the existence of a database on pro-life leaders called VAAPCON. LifeSite reported that VAAPCON was the name of an 18-month task force called Violence Against Abortion Providers Conspiracy by the US Justice Department which frustrated pro-abortion supporters by finding no evidence of a conspiracy to do violence on the part of pro-lifers.

"Over the years, my ministries and I have been subjected to a number of attempts to not only inhibit our free speech, but to subvert our pro-life advocacy. When I learned of this illegal VAAPCON database, I felt obliged to take action to stand up for the rights of all Americans to be free to express their religious beliefs, as people of faith should not be intimidated by a corrupt and immoral Clinton Administration," stated Dr. Falwell.
